about Allie.

profile

Hi there. I’m Allie. (Aren’t I patriotic?)

You can call me sassafras.

Sassafras?
1. A feisty girl. 2. One who sasses.

I’m a Southern transplant (from Minnesota) in North Carolina, lover of whale sharks, folk music, hiking, cold weather, reading, the outdoors, dry humor and science of all kinds, from ecology to astronomy. I laugh, a lot. I’ve been dating the coolest kid I know (“the boy”). He calls me Sassafras, because sometimes I’m sassy (meet him here). We spend our summers long distance because I summer in Michigan. I assistant manage an ice cream shop (it’s an adventure) and nanny two rambunctious kiddos.

I’m fascinated with people who are real and imperfect. I’m fiercely opinionated…and a libertarian. (I promise this will never be a political blog.) I want to spend at least a year living out of a suitcase, roaming around the world. I’m in high school, planning to study applied mathematics + environmental science when I graduate.

And yes, I would love to give you book/music recommendations and get yours! Just comment.
